For the "Do It Yourself" doctors. We have some easy suggestions.

1) Focus on local search

Make sure that customers can find you if they use the internet like the yellow pages.  Make sure that you rank high for for terms like {your city} Chiropractor, and {your city} Chiropractic etc.

You should use good informative copy on your home pages that manages to weave in these key search terms in the course of your writing.  Make good use of H1 and H2 tags and find ways to include these keywords in Header tagged keywords.

Make good use of use of the Title tag on all your web pages and be sure to include the key local search terms noted above.

2) Set up your business profile on all the major search directories.

Google, Yahoo and Microsoft’s Live Directory all offer business listings.  A full business listing can help your ranking and improve the appearance of your listing. Include as much information as possible including your hours of operation, types of payment accepted etc.

3) Encourage your patients to write reviews for you in Google and Yahoo. 

Make up a flyer to to explain what search terms your patients can use to find you on Google and Yahoo then explain to them how to leave a rating for your services (We have some samples we would be happy to share with you.) 

Some Doctors feel that they have to offer an incentive to get their patients to leave good reviews on web sites.  We find that just a request from the Doc is enough encouragement for most satisfied patients to take the time to write you an on line compliment.

We have one client who shows up at the top of Google’s One Box Listings (that’s the box with the map and all the listings to the right.  Underneath the practice name is a review in quotes it reads :”Dr. xxxxxxx is a fantastic chiropractor"  Advertising like that is incredibly valuable and for this doctor it was free.
